Matt’s Weekly Weather Word Contest – Another special prize package on the line!

Monday brought an announcement of the judging panel’s winning sentence for the week of August 24-28, and a new word for the week of August 31!
On the line last week was a fabulous VIP dining experience in Boston’s historic Park Square – Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse, Da Vinci Ristorante, Flemings Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Legal Seafoods and Via Matta combine for a great event on Wednesday, September 2, from 6 PM to 9 PM. Guests are given a map and assigned slots where they will rotate from one locale to the next, sampling all the while! To attend, call 617-357-4810 for reservations. Tickets are $50 per person.
This week we have another great prize pack on the line for the new word, and that prize was confirmed just moments after the segment aired! Two tickets for the Legal Seafoods Oyster Festival, taking place Wednesday, September 9! So, get cranking on your weather-related sentences, have fun, and good luck!

Try your hand at authoring your own, creative, weather-related sentence using this week’s word, and if our multi-person panel of judges deems yours the winning sentence, you’ll win two VIP spots at Park Place…in Boston! Five restaurants in Park Plaza have teamed up to create an exquisite dining experience, and Matt is your ticket to dine! So, put your thinking cap on and get the creative juices flowing…you have until next Monday morning, rather than the usual Friday deadline! Remember, this contest is open to kids and adults, alike!

There was business to be done in Matt’s Weekly Weather Word contest this week! After a couple of extra days to come up with sentences for last week’s word, “deterge,” while Matt climbed Mount Washington, the entries were fantastic! Who took the prize package when all was said and done?
And what about the new word for this week? There was a lot of business to take care of in Matt’s Weekly Weather Word Contest today! After an extended entry period over the weekend, it was time to announce the winner – who will not only receive the NECN Prize Package, but also a special “Expressions” tie from the Jimmy Fund.
A new word of the week was announced too, and as always, it is your job to come up with your own creative weather-related sentence using the word of the week. So send your entries, along with author’s name, address and phone number (for shipping purposes ONLY) via email to weatherword@necn.com. Our multi-person panel of judges will review all of the entries at the end of the week, and our winner will be announced Friday morning on NECN at 6:51 AM!
