Happy Halloween!
Posted by Danielle Niles October 31, 2009 at 10:27 am
It was a gray start for many of us across New England this morning with low clouds streaming across the sky adding a spooky touch for the start of Halloween. Some of these clouds have been producing light showers and pockets of drizzle, but as we head through the midday hours, breaks of sunshine will emerge from time to time. A south-southwest wind will transport warm air into New England as temperatures rise into the 60s and lower 70s in some of the warmest spots! Speaking of the wind, we are likely to see some isolated damage this afternoon as gusts between 35-50 mph bring down small trees, branches and powerlines. Downeast Maine has the potential for 60 mph gusts later today where a high wind warning is in effect. For a look at the latest advisories, watches, and warnings for New England, click here. Now that we’ve covered the wind, what about the rain? Will it be wet or dry for trick-or-treating? Read more

In Tim’s Friday Pic’s for October 30, 2009, Latoya and Tim, look and laugh at Pumpkins and Puppies, along with a bunch of cute kids doing what cute kids do. We start with Joshua’s Run in Scituate on October 24, 2009. This Sunday you are invited to join us at Giggles Comedy Club in Saugus Massachusetts at 6 PM Comedy For A Cure.
Wind to take the Halloween spotlight
Posted by Matt Noyes October 30, 2009 at 10:44 am
A major storm has been affecting the Central United States, complete with flooding rain, severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and heavy snow. After nearly four feet of snow in the Eastern Rockies, and flash flooding from the Mississippi River Valley to the Midwest, most of the energy and moisture associated with this storm will be pulling into Canada, where it will take up residence over Hudson Bay for the weekend. This storm is so large in scope, however, that its core of strong wind will expand east, arriving to New England on Halloween, and delivering a round of potentially damaging wind gusts regionwide…
