Clouds will increase today in Salem, NH and it will be cool too with temperatures in the 40s. That means Salem High School students Sara Lutey and Arianna Zulauf may need to wear extra layer or coat!

After a cool start this morning, temperatures will come up to the middle 60s today at the Gilmanton School in Gilmanton, NH. That’s where 3rd grader Joey Laurendeau and 1st grader Jenny Laurendeau have requested today’s My School Forecast!

Our long Labor Day weekend is over, which can only mean one thing – back to school for many kids across New England! In turn, that also means that the My School Forecast has returned! We start off today by heading up to the Sacred Heart School in Hampton, NH where Mrs. Ward wants to wish several students a good first day of school. Fortunately, the weather will be sunny and beautiful with temperatures rising into the upper 70s. Enjoy!
Comcast and NECN return to YMCA Camp Otter, in Salem, NH!

It certainly doesn’t seem like an entire summer has passed since about 80 Comcast employees, including members of our own NECN family, converged on the YMCA’s Camp Otter in Salem, NH, to clean-up and repair damage done by the Great Ice Storm of 2008. At the time, we knew it would only be a couple of months before young campers were using the campgrounds for making fun memories to last a lifetime, but it was truly a thrill to return to Camp Otter last week – this time with campers present – to see the smiles painted on the faces of each and every camper. The reception was beyond warm – we were treated like royalty! The kids designed a banner welcoming both NECN and Comcast back to Camp Otter, and we each took video – me with my handheld, high-definition camera to share on the web and in my weather segment on NECN, and Comcast with their professional TV camera to put the kids “On-Demand” with Comcast! That wasn’t all – Comcast presented a check for over $3,000 to Camp Otter to ensure success and lifelong memory-making continues in this little slice of Southern New Hampshire paradise. We received numerous creative, weather-related sentences for this week’s Weather Word Contest – and it was a close call, as usual, to determine who should walk away with the NECN Prize package! How fitting that the weather will be pleasant this afternoon for Lliam at the Pleasant Street School in Laconia, NH! After a chilly start this morning, temperatures will rebound quite nicely – into the middle 60s by the time the day is done with sunshine and a few high, thin clouds.

It certainly feels like summer today at the Centre School in Hampton, NH where siblings Brady and Riley Wall have requested a My School Forecast! Blue skies and hot temperatures are the story today, as temperatures will come up to 90 degrees – so stay cool!
