The Thursday May 7, 2009 Dew point of 65° on my Davis Advantage Pro 2 is the highest of 2009. Our air has a tropical feel tonight, and sure enough, we have tropical downpours with Thunder Storms. For many of us we have had rainfall 4 or 5 of the 7 days thus far in May. Here is a view from the hazecam.net cam in Swampscott from Thursday Evening, as the Red Sox were playing in showers (remnants T.Storms that formed in New Jersey and Connecticut).

The rainfall amounts did not match the forecast I posted Monday. Rains of been extensive, but not as intense, or with the duration I expected. Here are some May Rainfall totals from around New England, the heaviest of which came on Thursday, with a 1006 millibar Low Pressure Center & Warm Front – Cold Front.
Blue Hill MA 2″. Concord NH 1.7″ (1.12″ May 6 daily record). Bangor ME 1.24″. Burlington VT .7″. Hartford CT 1.8″. Providence RI 1.9″.
We have more Thunderstorms Friday afternoon, and again Saturday Night. These next two events are more hit or miss. Those that get hit may pick up a half inch in less than an hour. But most of the time it will not be raining. A powerful front Saturday night may come with damaging wind. We are near 80° in spots Saturday, Closer to 60° on Sunday with a 999 Millibar low in The Gulf of Maine, wind on Sunday Morning may gust past 40 mph. Still fine for spending time with Mom, and maybe putting some Bulbs in her Garden.
